THE EMBRYONIC ELECTRICAL OFFICER

In 1947, the Electrical Branch was formed and in 1950 we were once again involved in a vicious war which lasted until 1953, the Korean War. Many thousands were killed or captured and this document gives a small insight into the post- operational period Korean War Exchange of Dead - Operation GLORY.

During this period many young officers served and trained as 'managers' of Radar and W/T equipment in the Royal Navy. By the end of the war in 1953, a young officer, as a part of his training, was given a docket containing many and varied instructions and directives, and all of these have a relevance to our story. This is what he was given.

Remember the S1099, the S1091, the S549 and the dreaded S126 [if you lost anything and you had to pay for it] ? Well in these files you will find all of this plus lots of other things which our young officer needed to run, organise and control his Division/Department.
